Zero-shot Learning

The ability of AI to complete a task it has never explicitly practiced before.

What it means

Zero-shot Learning happens when a pre-trained model can correctly handle a prompt or categorize an image it has never seen during its training phase. It uses its general understanding to figure it out.

Why it matters

It shows that the AI has developed genuine flexibility and understanding, rather than just memorizing answers. It makes models useful out-of-the-box for brand new problems.
