What it means
Narrow AI (or Weak AI) refers to AI systems that are hyper-specialized. A chess computer beats the world champion at chess but can't recommend a movie or drive a car. All AI currently in existence, including ChatGPT and Siri, is Narrow AI.
Why it matters
It distinguishes today's reality from science fiction. While powerful, these tools don't have consciousness or general intelligence; they are just efficient tools for specific jobs.
