Black Box AI

AI systems whose internal decision-making process is opaque to humans.

What it means

A Black Box refers to an AI model that gives you an answer, but you can't easily see how it arrived at that conclusion. The internal math is so complex that even its creators can't trace the logic of a specific decision.

Why it matters

This lack of transparency can be a problem in regulated industries like finance or healthcare, where you need to explain why a loan was denied or a diagnosis was made.
